Bernardo Aguiar
Bernardo Aguiar was born in 1984 in Rio de Janeiro. At age nine, he was already performing in the Samba School Unidos do Santa Marta and at fourteen he joined the pandeiro orchestra Pandemonium. His exceptional talent on the instrument gained him the role of lead soloist in the group and he remained with them until 2001.

During his time with Pandemonium Bernardo had the opportunity to play alongside some of the great Brazilian singers, such as, Nelson Sargento, Wilson Moreira, João Nogueira and Elza Soares. He also performed at the Municipal Theater in Rio de Janeiro in tribute to Jackson do Pandeiro and Percpan 2000 (Panorama of World Percussion) held in Salvador da Bahia at Teatro Castro Alves. During this period Bernardo also learned from and performed with Brazilian percussion masters such as Robertinho Silva, Carlos Negreiros, Marcos Suzano and Naná Vasconcelos.

In 2001, Bernardo began playing and recording widely with instrumental musicians including Rodrigo Lessa, Eduardo Neves, Fernando Moura and Alceu Maia.

In 2002
, at the age of 18, Bernardo's mentor Marcos Suzano began to send him as his substitute in Carlos Malta's Pife Muderno and he's been playing with them ever since. In 2005 he performed outside of Brasil for the first time with them at the University of Florida, as well as conducting pandeiro workshops. During the same trip Bernardo performed with the singer Kátia B in Mexico City.

Most recently, Bernardo recorded the CD & DVD "Acústico MTV" with the group O Rappa.
