Luis Carlos Xavier Guello ("Guello") began his percussion career with samba master Osvaldinho da Cuíca. During the 80's he formed Grupo Livre Percussão, researching and composing pieces based on Brazilian rhythms. He has been recording with some of the greatest Brazilian artists such as Zizi Possi, Paulo Moura, Joyce, Marco Pereira, Badi Assad, Edson Cordeiro, Antônio Nóbrega and Sá e Guarabira. He is a former member of Banda Sossega-Leão and the legendary Mexe-com-Tudo, a band that electrified São Paulo nights for more than a decade.

Guello has taught at the ´Conservatório de Música de Tatuí' and has been acclaimed asone of the most important Brazilian percussionists and pandeiro players. Presently, he is a member of Orquestra Popular de Câmara, Banda Mantiqueira, André Mehmari Trio and Bonsai Trio.
